I’m so happy you’re here to read all about A Loving Christ!
If you find yourself wondering how to recognize and fully live the love of Christ that you are, this is the place for you.
If you have spent much of your life existing and not boldly living because you weren’t sure what your passions are or you didn’t feel you were good enough, this is the place for you.
If you’ve lost (due to death, divorce, or separation) and grieved and can’t find purpose anymore, this is the place for you.
I’m Julie. Together, with my dear friend, Brooke, I first started Loving Christ Ministries to bring all women together for support, encouragement, laughter, and love in Him. Brooke and I named the ministry Loving Christ because He is always a loving Christ, and we strive to live every moment of our lives loving Christ. Through the years, the blog has grown from occasional devotionals and the sharing of women’s retreat resources to a full ministry for women (typically in the 40-65 crowd although everyone is welcome) to learn how to live radical love, how to know their passion, and how to find purpose after grief.
I’ll share with you encouragement in the day to day, my experiences and growth through my grief after the passing of my dearest friend, and I’ll teach you ways to find your passion and to understand your purpose. Along the way, I’ll share with you my passions. Sometimes, those elements will jibe and sometimes they won’t. But always, you’ll know YOU AREN’T ALONE!
At A Loving Christ, everyone is welcome. Come and find support, encouragement, and more information than you can ever put to use.

And here’s a little bit more about me:
For 26 years, I’ve been a public school teacher. I taught English for 10 of those years and have taught computer software and computer maintenance and repair for the rest of those years. Along with my day job as teacher, I’ve worked help desk for a local internet company and have created and taught technology classes for my community, most specifically for seniors and those relatively new to tech.
About 5 years ago, I created my passion – this blog, A Loving Christ. It began as a way to share retreat resources and to journal my grief. I struggled with my faith in my early days of grief and I credit this blog with helping me process so much of it. I credit God for getting me through, though, and helping me to understand who I am in Him and what that means for my life now.
Through the Loving Christ blog, I learned the ins and outs of creating a blog, designing and making images for every aspect, building my list, using social media and my email list to increase page views, and a million other blog related tricks, tips, and tasks.
I also wrote and published devotionals and a full length memoir. Due to that success, I began helping others self-publish – not by doing it for them (then, they wouldn’t be self-publishing, right?) – but by teaching them to do it themselves. It has been a fantastic journey, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you.
On a personal note, I grew up in the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in southeastern Oklahoma and am now an active member of the First United Methodist Church in central Missouri. My biggest claim to fame is my family – husband, Mark; son, Nicholas; son, Max; daughter, Erin, and granddaughter, Alayna.
I love to read (I’m a huge Stephen King fan!), write, work on computers, ride my bike, play games with family, and go for long casual strolls in nature. I have a pretty weird sense of humor, but I’m used to it now (no one else is, though! ha!).
I’m so happy you’ve found your way here to Loving Christ Ministries. Let me know how I can pray for you!
