Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV) I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.
After figuring out what we’re passionate about from our last session in 5 Ways to Find and Focus on Your Passion, it’s time to figure out where our strengths lie.
Admitting our strengths can definitely be difficult. I’m not sure if it’s because we’re raised to be modest and not to ‘brag’ about ourselves, if we’re just that insecure, or if it’s a combination of both. I’m thinking the latter.
After a women’s retreat one spring where we did a breakout session on spiritual gifts, I was amazed that the ladies had such a hard time figuring out their gifts. I wrote about it in the post We All Have a Gift! What’s Yours! and included an easy-to-take assessment on finding spiritual gifts.
Until I took the assessment, I had never really considered my faith to be a gift, but my eyes were open to the fact that no one has my faith; it’s unique to me. With it, I can follow my passion which is sharing the love of Christ. You have unique gifts and strengths, too.
Everyone has a gift. We all possess certain strengths. If we’re to live our purpose, we need to tap into our strengths, combine them with our passions and motivation, and live a full life.

If you’re interested in a quick assessment of your strengths, use this fast and simple worksheet to list your strengths. Hang on to this and pair it with your Find and Focus on Your Passion worksheet. If you still need to complete that one, click here to find it.
Later, we’ll look at our motivations and then what obstacles get in our way. We’ll put all of these things together and discover how we can finally LIVE a LIFE of PURPOSE!
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NIV) There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
