Publishing with Amazon Kindle Made Simple
Whether you are a full time devotional author, write motivational ebooks for extra blog income, or have a special book idea you want to offer the public, publishing with Amazon Kindle makes good sense. Because Amazon Kindle is so huge, having your ebooks professionally published and offered through their site lends credibility and offers a humongous potential readership.
Is Amazon Kindle right for you?
Before deciding if going the Amazon route works best for you, think about who you want to reach and why you’re publishing an ebook. Bloggers often sell ebooks in a PDF format directly from their websites rather than publish them with Amazon Kindle. Depending on blog traffic, this can be an excellent way to generate extra income. Books sold directly from your own blog will bring in more profit per sale because no one else will be taking royalties. You’ll possibly have a few fees through your payment processing, but typically you will earn more per book sold.

However, Amazon takes a pretty large percentage for royalty. Specific amounts differ, so you’ll want to check out their pricing to see what you would earn per sale. You can find that information in your Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account.
So why would you want to publish a book on Amazon if you aren’t going to make as much money per book? Here’s why:
1. Amazon sells MORE books than all the other online book retailers combined.
2. It’s FREE to publish on Amazon (and CreateSpace, Amazon’s print-on-demand site).
3. It’s fast. You don’t have to wait on agents or publishers and can instead have your book ready to sell within about 12 hours.
4. You control the pricing.
5. Amazon will often help promote your book especially if you move up in the rankings through sales and reviews.
6. Having a professional quality ebook offered through Amazon lends extra credibility to you as an author.

Ooooh, write it, write it!! The process isn’t that bad, and the first step is to get it written anyway! You’ll be so glad to have that part done, and then you can move forward in the self-publishing process. I’m excited for you!

Thanks. Was rethinking about doing this but it seemed difficult.

JoJo, it’s not difficult at all. Promise! There are just a bunch of steps, but they are pretty straight forward. Let me know how I can help.
