Create Menus in WordPress
After you’ve created your blog categories, you need to learn to create menus in WordPress. Menus typically are located at the top of a blog page (sometimes you’ll see them at the bottom as well, but the top is most common) and are provided so that the readers can easily navigate to the different categories available on your blog.
Affiliate links may be used in this post. If you click on one and make a purchase, I may receive a small percentage at no extra cost to you. Read my full disclosure policy here.
WordPress menus allow flexibility as you’ll be able to include items by category, by URL (where the click takes the reader straight to a specific webpage), or by Pages or Posts. Some themes allow you to have more than one Menu. I use the Genesis child theme, Graceful, on a Genesis Framework, and I’m able to have two menus.
I use my top menu for my About, Disclosure, and Free Retreat Planning Checklist and use the main menu located just under my header for my categories – Living Intentionally, Grief Support, Devotionals, Faith Blogger Resources, and Retreat Resources. It’s pretty clear as to what my blog is about with these menus and categories. At least, I haven’t heard otherwise. 🙂 I always welcome constructive criticism from my readers so I know what works best for them.

As you can see from the video, creating menus doesn’t take much time at all and makes a huge difference in your reader’s experience.
