DARE TO DREAM NARRATIVE:
Take a moment to think about what you have dreamed about doing but dismissed that thought because of all the barriers that stand in your way.
Now, focus on that dream and BELIEVE that you can make it come true.
Dare yourself to take the steps necessary, no matter how many steps it takes, to accomplish what has blossomed in your heart.
Too many times it ends up being God planting that seed in your heart. He will help you through the process when you DARE TO DREAM!
DARE TO DREAM SCRIPTURES:
Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
Genesis 40:8 We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”
Number 12:5-6 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.”
Ephesians 4:1-3 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
1 Corinthians 1:26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.
DARE TO DREAM ICEBREAKERS:
Who Am I:

Marooned:

DARE TO DREAM RETREAT GAMES/ACTIVITIES:
Plaster Gauze Masks:
Consider your true identity by creating plaster gauze masks. This special activity will probably be something unique for most of you. Try it out… it’s definitely memorable!
Bible Pictionary:
Brainstorm lists of Bible characters and stories.
Cut each item in the list into strips of paper, fold, and place in a basket or bowl.
Divide the ladies into two teams and take turns picking a slip of paper and drawing it to the best of their ability in order for their team to guess.
At the end of 15 minutes (or however long you dedicate), the team with the most right answers wins.
Award prizes or extra tickets to door prize raffles.
DARE TO DREAM SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. Share something you have dreamed of doing but decided to ‘put it on the back burner’ because something was holding you back.
2. What are some barriers that have kept you from pursuing that dream?
3. Think of steps you can take to break down at least one of those barriers.

DARE TO DREAM CLOSING PRAYER:
Dear Lord, Thank you for bringing us together to encourage us to dare to dream. We have dreams in our hearts that you have created. Help us to be aware of those dreams from you and give us the courage, determination, and patience to take as many steps as necessary to pursue your path. Be with us as we travel to our homes and keep our minds ever focused on following your will for us. Amen.
What a cool idea! It looks like you’ve thought if everything. I like the Bible Pictionary idea. I might try that in my kids church!
Thank you, Crystal!
You’ve done it again, Julie. This looks like a great theme and I’ve already taken notes on the Marooned ice breaker.
Thank you, Lisa!
What a unique idea! Do you create new retreat themes each quarter or year or? Do you pin to retreat boards? I’ll pin to mine.
I try to write at least two each month. I pin them regularly. Thanks for stopping by and for pinning!
