Day 1 Faith Blogging Course: Why You Should Start a Faith Blog

Welcome to Day 1!

Have you thought about why you want to start a faith blog? What made you want to enroll in this course and learn more about blogging? Was it blogging itself or a desire to reach more people to share your passion?

There are many different reasons why you may want to start a blog. I started my blog purely as a hobby, and it all grew from there! There are others who start their blog as a way to make money right from the very beginning.

There is no right or wrong answer for why you should start a blog, and many people start blogs for all kinds of reasons.

Below are reasons you may want to think about starting a faith blog.

1. To Express Your Faith

Before I started blogging, I never gave it a thought. Now that I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years, I can’t imagine not blogging.

I had so many thoughts and feelings as I grieved for my best friend. Although I’d grown up in a loving church, my faith almost couldn’t stand up to my devastation. I wrote to express the doubts I had, the sadness I felt, and the beautiful peace that filled me when I recognized Christ’s Light in me.

Writing allows emotions to flow, and blogging gave me an avenue to share. When I began hearing from readers who resonated with what I wrote and who let me know they understood, my life was changed. I had felt so alone in my grief. I don’t want anyone to ever have to feel that way.

2. To Blog For Others

No matter what type of blog you have, you are helping others. Someone may be motivated by your blog posts, they may learn something new, they may find enjoyment from reading your writing, and so on.

I like to talk about the grief I felt, the passion and purpose that encompassed me when I recognized God helping me through the grief, and about the FACT that His love and peace, passion and purpose are available for us all. We can live fully and boldly in Christ’s love!

Hopefully, my blog posts help and motivate others to begin to understand who they are in Christ. I pray I can reach more and more people for His Kingdom.

3. To Be a Part of an Awesome Community

I’ve made so many good friends through my blog. I love receiving emails from readers and blog friends that I’ve made. Being able to connect and learn from others is one of the biggest positives of blogging. Within our Loving Christ community, we share joys and prayer concerns and lift each other up. I would never have as big a community if it weren’t for blogging.

4. To Grow

A faith blog can help you grow in so many ways. You will most likely become even more passionate with the topics love, you will constantly learn new things, you will meet many new people, and your faith will become stronger.

5. To Build a Business

Of course, I have to include this as a reason to start a blog. Blogging can be a great way to improve the business you already have, or to create a business all on its own.

I know several successful bloggers and they all say the same thing, that blogging is the best thing that has ever happened to them. I agree!

I started as a hobby blogger writing to share my passion for all God has done in my life – helping me discover the Light within me, showing me how to find purpose after devastating grief, and discovering my passion for helping others know the same. Now, I run a successful faith blog that earns me almost what I make teaching middle school computer classes. I predict it will continue to grow well into the future when I hope to leave my day job, blog full time, and in turn, share Christ’s love with more people.
