FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT NARRATIVE
Visualize a big basket full of delicious fruit. The vivid colors of the rainbow in that basket (yellow, red, purple, orange, etc.) brighten the room and that fruit can fill your senses like a beautiful piece of art.
The fruits of the Spirit of the Lord do exactly the same thing. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control color your world in a special way that only our Father can do.
Think about how you feel when you receive those actions as well as when you share those actions with others. As we read in so many scriptures, God wants us to treat others with respect and these ‘fruits’ are His guidance in ways we can do that.
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT SCRIPTURES
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Matthew 7:16-17 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Balloon Scriptures:
Who’s ready to jump around? These colorful balloons provide a silly way to get the blood flowing and to bring on some laughter.
Spiritual Fruit Cards
You need a deck of cards for every four people. Divide everyone into groups of four. Each person is to have 9 cards ace to nine of one suit. A person will pick up one card and give a facial expression that equals that card. The others then put a card down in front of them to say which fruit they think the person is doing. One point for every right answer.
Ace = love, two = joy, three = peace, four = patience, five = kindness, six = goodness, seven = faithfulness, eight = gentleness, nine = self-control
Blindfold Fruity Bits
You need nine different types of fruit and blindfolds. Cut up the fruit into nine bowls. Blindfold each person and then give them a piece of fruit. Have them guess what fruit it is.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT CRAFTS
Fruit of the Spirit Wreath
Create a wreath using artificial fruit pieces, such as grapes, apples, and pears. Add greenery and ribbon to complete the look.
Fruit of the Spirit Canvas Art
Create canvas art by painting each fruit of the spirit with its corresponding color on a blank canvas. Hang it in your home or office for daily inspiration.
Fruit of the Spirit Journal
Decorate a journal cover with each fruit of the spirit using markers, stickers, or watercolor paints. Use the journal to reflect on how the fruits of the spirit are manifesting in your life.
Polymer Clay Pens
Use all the ‘colors’ of the fruits of the Spirit in the form of clay to make your own pen creation. You end up with something useful and fun to take home with you.
Floral Arrangements
Find a variety of bottles (such as soda bottles, vases, etc.) at your local thrift store or antique store and provide a variety of artificial flowers and accessories. The ladies can make their own delightful and colorful creation out of these items. They can use the finished item to practice a fruit of the Spirit, such as kindness, and give it to someone who needs a pick-me-up. Or they can decorate their own home with it.
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT DECORATING IDEAS
- Create a fruit-themed centerpiece using real or fake fruits like apples, oranges, and grapes. Place them in a decorative bowl or basket and add some greenery to make it look more vibrant.
- Hang banners or posters with the names of the fruits of the spirit and their corresponding Bible verses. You can use calligraphy or colorful fonts to make them stand out.
- Set up a photo booth with fruit props like hats, sunglasses, and headbands. This will be a fun way for attendees to take pictures and remember the event.
- Use fruit-scented candles or diffusers to make the room smell like a fruit orchard. Scents like apple, orange, and peach can help create a relaxing atmosphere.
- Set up a DIY fruit bar where attendees can make their own fruit-infused water or cocktails. You can provide a variety of fruits and herbs like lemon, lime, mint, and strawberries.
- Create table centerpieces with potted plants like succulents or herbs, and add small fruit accents like lemons or limes.
- Use colorful tablecloths and napkins in shades of red, orange, yellow, green, and purple to represent the fruits of the spirit.
- Place small fruit baskets or bowls at each table setting as a decorative touch. These can also double as a healthy snack option for attendees.
- Use fruit-themed plates and cups for meals and refreshments. You can find these at party supply stores or online.
- Hang fruit-themed lanterns or paper decorations from the ceiling to add a whimsical touch to the space.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT CLOSING PRAYER:
Dear Lord, you have so much wisdom to share with your children. You color our world with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Sometimes we disappoint you and don’t use your gifts. We allow the daily irritations of the earthly world to keep us from following where you are trying to lead us. However, we are grateful for your guidance. We appreciate this opportunity to gather together to fill our spirits. Please help us to retain what we learned here so that we can take it home with us and share it with others. Amen.
