Read: John 8:1-30
What did Jesus first do and say when the Pharisees asked him about the adulterous woman?
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straighten up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one _______________ you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I ________________ you,” Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.”
I am the _______________ of the _______________. Whoever follows me will never walk in _______________, but will have the _______________ of life.”
Then they asked him, “Where is your _______________?” “You do not know me or my _______________,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my _______________ also.”
Reflect and Apply:
Let’s think about throwing stones. This is a tough and personal question, but look deeply inside. Have you ‘thrown stones’ before as a way to help you feel better or to justify your own sin? Did doing that really make you feel closer to God or did it merely make you feel temporarily better about yourself? What can you strive for to feel closer to Jesus instead?
Going Beyond: Write out today’s scripture in a journal or notebook.
