Read: John 2:1-25
What did Jesus mean by ‘my time has not yet come’?
What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the _______________ of the signs through which he revealed his _______________, and his disciples _______________.
In verses 13-15, what were the people doing in the temple when Jesus got there? How did Jesus respond, and why did he respond in this way?
What temple was Jesus referring to in verse 20? ____________________
Reflect and Apply:
You’ve probably heard the expression ‘your body is a temple’. What cattle, sheep, doves, and money changers (clutter) have you allowed to fill it? What’s a first practical step to clearing that clutter?
Have you had something ‘destroyed’ and then raised again? Maybe when something good comes from something terrible? It could be something physical (for example, my parents’ house burned to the ground which was terrible, but they were able to re-build with features they needed to allow them to remain independent longer) or something spiritual or emotional.
In verse 25, what do you think Jesus means by ‘he knew what was in each person’? I’d love for you to share your ideas with me by email and or through a comment on the blog.
Going Beyond: Write out today’s scripture in a journal or notebook.
