Living Out Loud for Jesus | Loving Christ

31 Days of Devotions | October 2014

Matthew 5: 11-12 (NIV) “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Sometimes, just the fear of persecution keeps us from claiming Christ. We don’t want to offend, and so we don’t live out loud for Jesus. However, Jesus is love. When we live in love, we are living in the spirit of Him. Those who take offense at that may just be the ones who need that love the most. Even when others don’t understand, continue to live in His love anyway. Rejoice and be glad you are honoring Him and making a difference in His kingdom.

Today’s Prayer:
Dear Lord, Be with us each day as we need strength to always live out loud for you without letting any fear of persecution hold us back. Thank you for your promise and your blessings. Amen

Your personal challenge today: Make one extra effort to reach out to someone who you can tell needs Christ’s love. Even if they don’t seem receptive, let them know they are loved (by words or actions). Journal about the experience.
