When Should We Pray? | A Loving Christ Devotional

When Should We Pray? All Day! But Start First Thing in the Morning.

Psalm 5:3 Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

Psalm 143:8 Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

An active prayer life creates a close relationship with God. Regular and consistent praying allows our bond with Him to strengthen and grow.

When should we pray? What time of day do you pray? How does affect your entire day? God calls us to begin prayer first thing in the morning to start each day focused on Him.

While the Bible never specifically says we must pray in the mornings, many verses mention morning, and there must be a reason for this.

I know in the mornings, I am less burdened by the distractions of the day. Morning prayer gives me a chance to start out right. I can commit my whole day to God.

When I leave my room in the morning after prayer time, I feel empowered and ready to face the day. Yes, I may face obstacles throughout the day, but my morning foundation in faith helps me through.

On the days I race to get ready and don’t take time, I feel unsettled and incomplete until I do.

So, when should we pray? Begin in the morning, and never stop! Make a commitment now to your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Today’s Prayer: Lord, how wonderful it is that we can have relationship with you. Let us not take that for granted but instead communicate with you each morning and throughout each day in order to grow closer to you. Amen.

Personal Challenge: Commit to prayer time each morning and follow through. Use a prayer journal to help focus and guide you.
