Scripture encouragement cards add an extra personal touch for the ladies at any retreat. For the Loving Christ overnight retreats, ladies stay in nice cabins with heat/air, semi-private sleeping areas (with Serta mattresses), and private bathrooms (did you like the shameless plug for our retreats and how comfortable you will be?).
Our activities take place in a separate area of the camp, so during one of the evening events either Brooke and I or someone we’ve recruited to help will sneak to the cabins and place an encouragement card on each ladies’ pillow. One weekend, we even had youth from my local church’s youth group help us out.
Our purpose is to share Christ’s love with each individual, and a simple note left on a pillow makes a bigger difference than you might imagine. After an active day of worship, fellowship, and activities, it’s nice to head to bed and find a note of encouragement waiting.
