Scheduling Faith Blog Posts with the WordPress Editorial Calendar

The WordPress Editorial Calendar

Using the WordPress Editorial Calendar has saved my sanity more times than I can count. I have tried so many times to use a planner for scheduling my blog posts, but all of the scribbling out, changed, rescheduling, and then messy planner drove me nuts! Someone suggested using a big desk calendar (or wall) and writing my post ideas and titles on sticky notes so I could move them around. That sounds great, too. At first. I like to plan several weeks or more in advance, though, and after moving my sticky notes around a few times, they lost their sticky! Sigh.

Use the WordPress Editorial Calendar to easily schedule your faith blog posts. They're easy to schedule, easy to move around, and best of all - it's FREE!

And then I found the FREE plugin, WordPress Editorial Calendar, and everything suddenly became all better for me!

Here’s an easy tutorial on how to use it!

Install WordPress Editorial Calendar

  1. Go to Plugins, Add New, and search for WordPress Editorial Calendar
  2. It just says Editorial Calendar. The correct one has close to 60 5 star reviews (you can see what it looks like in the video).
  3. Click Install Now
  4. Click Activate

Go to Posts, Calendar

  1. In the WordPress menu, click Posts, and then click Calendar
  2. On the specific day you want to schedule, click New Post, and fill in the information
  3. You can drag and drop planned posts on any day and even schedule more than one post in a day (if you do that, I’m jealous!)
  4. When you mouse over a post title in the calendar, you will get a menu that allows you to Edit, Quick Edit, Delete, or View if the post is in Draft. Once it’s been published, you’ll see Edit and View on this menu.

It’s so easy to plan and schedule blog posts!
